After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Rutgers University, Mr. Richartz started with Ernst & Young (formerly Arthur Young & Company) in 1972. Mr. Richartz also had twenty-eight years with the Internal Revenue Service and concluded a distinguished and varied career with the IRS - Large and Medium-Size Business Division in the Western Judicial District of Virginia. Mr. Richartz was an IRS Group Manager in both Sarasota, Florida and Roanoke, Virginia where he also served as the District Director's Representative. He served both in the Employee Plans Division and the Examination Division, and was responsible for the start-up and implementation of special projects within the Atlantic City Casino Industry. Mr. Richartz served as an IRS Summary Expert Witness in the United States Tax Court where he assisted IRS District Counsel in trial preparation and litigation support. Mr. Richartz served as an Appeals Auditor in the IRS Appeals Division - Philadelphia, PA, and as Acting Associate Chief of Appeals - Richmond, VA. Mr. Richartz has extensive experience as an Internal Revenue Agent working with the largest corporations in the western part of Virginia. While in Virginia, Mr. Richartz supervised the Richmond District Fraud Coordinator Program and traveled extensively throughout Virginia reviewing and monitoring the status of this program. Mr. Richartz was a member of the IRS Speakers Bureau, served as an IRS Classroom Instructor and On-The-Job Trainer.
