David Parsons, CPA/PFS, CLU, CHFC, CFP®, CGMA

Early in his career, David served as a Trust Officer at Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) in Raleigh, NC, where he helped clients design and implement tax-efficient estate plans involving trusts and sophisticated wealth transfer strategies.  He moved from trust banking to the national CPA firm of Oppenheim, Appel & Dixon in New York City, where he provided personal tax planning and investment taxation strategies for the partners of some of Wall Street's most prestigious firms.  He was later recruited to Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in New York City, to work in the Expatriate Tax Services Group providing cross-border tax solutions for Price Waterhouse’s Fortune 500 clients and their senior executives working in Europe and the Far East.

Later, as the Vice President of the Financial and Estate Planning Department at Chase Manhattan Private Bank, his team provided estate tax solutions for some of New York City's wealthiest residents.

He eventually left New York for Atlanta to join an executive benefits consulting firm, where he designed and implemented tax-efficient nonqualified deferred compensation plans for Fortune 500 companies.  To complete his corporate career, David joined Transamerica Financial Advisors in St. Petersburg, FL, where he headed a team of attorneys and CPAs to provide tax, financial, and legacy planning solutions to Transamerica’s national network of representatives.

In 2013, David opened his own firm, Wall Street Alliance, where he continues to provide tax strategies, financial planning, and wealth management.  In 2019, he merged his practice with Old North State Wealth Management, and joined the team at Knott, Richartz & Co., CPAs.  His North Carolina CPA license number is 17266.

David is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he played varsity football and lacrosse. His accounting education was at North Carolina State University. David has published articles on international estate planning and small business tax strategies.  He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and other publications.  A retired Navy Captain (helicopter pilot), David lives in Southport, NC with his "bride," Donna. Together, they have five adult children and several grandchildren. If David is not in the office, he is probably on the water or playing the trumpet in his church.
